National Institutes of Health Award $30M Health Equity Grant to Einstein and Montefiore

The National Institutes of Health has awarded a $30 million grant to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System to support the Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR).

The ICTR will focus on advancing translational science and integrating social needs into study design to understand the impact of structural racism on health.

The grant will also help accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into prevention and treatment approaches for diseases disproportionately affecting historically marginalized populations in the Bronx, Westchester, and lower the Hudson Valley regions in New York.

Furthermore, the ICTR’s community and stakeholder engagement core will be expanded to establish stronger connections with individuals from the Bronx, Westchester, and lower Hudson Valley communities, thereby collecting their viewpoints to enhance the understanding of research scope and desired focus.
