Health equity and health policy advocates made major strides at the 8th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, where the Strong Heroes team was a key force behind the critically important “Call to Action on Addressing the Global Burden of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Diseases.”
The global congenital cardiac community convened in Washington, D.C. to share and learn from each other, while issuing an urgent call for action by all governments, health organizations, and the research and academic communities to protect and promote the health of all people with pediatric and congenital heart diseases.
Given the mission of Strong Heroes to create a future that eliminates health inequities and maximize health outcomes across all populations, the 6-person Strong Heroes delegation at the 8th World Congress is working hard to advance the key goals and actions promulgated by the Call to Action, including:
- Increasing capacity to care for people with pediatric and congenital heart diseases
- Building the pediatric and congenital cardiac workforce
- Closing the data gap
