Executive Team

Joshua Montvelisky

Director, Outreach

Josh is the Outreach Director for Strong Heroes. As Outreach Director, Josh manages the communications side of various Strong Heroes initiatives. He works to expand the organization’s network so as to make a larger impact in and out of our community. Josh primarily focuses on the policy and research aspect of Strong Heroes and is in charge of drafting its monthly newsletter as well as its other publications. Josh is passionate about bringing the organization’s efforts to as many kids as possible and believes a strong media presence is key to accomplishing this goal.

Outside of Strong Heroes, Josh is the Executive Tournament Director of the New York Parliamentary Debate League. He is also Captain of the Blind Brook High School Debate Team and the Mock Trial Team, as well as the President of the Blind Brook Student Congress. His commitment to building a more equitable America is further demonstrated through his work in politics and government where, in addition to being the President of his school’s Political Action Club, he has worked on various political campaigns and in several government offices. Josh’s role in Strong Heroes is supplemented with his own research, where he focuses on the judicial system—he most recently wrote a paper on the implications of overturning Chevron deference and its reflection of the American political landscape.

Josh believes in the ability for policy to address fundamental flaws in American healthcare and hopes his work in Strong Heroes can help raise awareness for the issue.
