2nd Annual Diversity in Clinical Trials Summit

Improving diversity in clinical trials is both an ethical obligation and a scientific necessity. The current lack of diversity presents a challenge in understanding how novel therapies perform across different population subgroups, hindering progress in reducing disparities and achieving equity. Despite growing awareness of the importance of including diverse patient populations in clinical research, there is still much work to be done to increase representation of racial and minority ethnic groups in clinical trials.

This year’s agenda features new topics requested by prior attendees, including:

• Increasing representation of underrepresented communities in clinical trials
• Driving for more diverse participation in early drug development
• Setting clear goals for increasing DE&I in clinical trial enrollment
• Increasing clinical trial diversity through decentralized studies
• Standardizing diversity metrics in clinical trials
• Grasping health literacy as a key component for clinical trial enrollment
• Improving collaborations with patient advocacy groups
• Developing a future-ready, diverse clinical research workforce
