SUMMARY:Accelerating Health Equity Conference
DESCRIPTION:A time to connect and collaborate to advance community health\, well-being\, and equity.\nLong-standing health care disparities and inequities still persist. Systemic drivers such as structural racism and economic disadvantages have resulted in disproportionate health outcomes across different patient populations. \nNow is the time to evaluate how far we have come in closing existing gaps\, assess where health care is on the equity journey and take what we have learned to strengthen our organizations and communities through collaborative and innovative work: investing in our neighborhoods and one another. Together we can continue to develop better and more equitable solutions to address barriers that prevent access to high-quality care and improve health outcomes.

DESCRIPTION:Improving diversity in clinical trials is both an ethical obligation and a scientific necessity. The current lack of diversity presents a challenge in understanding how novel therapies perform across different population subgroups\, hindering progress in reducing disparities and achieving equity. Despite growing awareness of the importance of including diverse patient populations in clinical research\, there is still much work to be done to increase representation of racial and minority ethnic groups in clinical trials. \nThis year’s agenda features new topics requested by prior attendees\, including:  \n• Increasing representation of underrepresented communities in clinical trials\n• Driving for more diverse participation in early drug development\n• Setting clear goals for increasing DE&I in clinical trial enrollment\n• Increasing clinical trial diversity through decentralized studies\n• Standardizing diversity metrics in clinical trials\n• Grasping health literacy as a key component for clinical trial enrollment\n• Improving collaborations with patient advocacy groups\n• Developing a future-ready\, diverse clinical research workforce

SUMMARY:MATRC Summit
DESCRIPTION:Telehealth Equity:  Is the “Solution” for Addressing Inequities in Health Quality and Access Now Exacerbating those Same Issues?  As telehealth and healthcare become synonymous\, some have been raising red flags. Is what has historically been touted as one of the solutions for addressing disparities in access to quality care turning into a potential driver of such disparities? Some would say that telehealth is built on the existing infrastructures of healthcare and technology\, and thus concerns with telehealth equity are simply reflections of larger systemic issues. Others would say that telehealth enables us to move beyond the existing healthcare infrastructure; thus creating opportunities for more equitable access to quality care. Join us at #MATRC2023 as we examine the technology\, policy and operational best practices and lessons learned that contribute to making telehealth either a facilitator\, enabler or barrier for different populations.  (CEs available for select sessions throughout the Summit  – see schedule for more details. Three tracks available for Summit attendees – General\, Behavioral/Mental Health and Leading Transformation.  Attendees may attend sessions across the three tracks).
