Health equity efforts for rural communities in the U.S. just got a boost from Gilead Sciences, which announced that it will be granting a total of $3 million to eight organizations to offer services in rural geographies that are disproportionately affected by HIV.
Gilead’s Zeroing In program aims to end the HIV epidemic by providing grants to organizations that work to enhance the health and well-being of communities that are most affected by HIV.
Grantees were chosen based on their community-driven and strategic approaches to eliminate systemic barriers that hinder access to quality HIV testing and treatment for individuals living in rural areas.
This investment will enable Zeroing In rural health equity and advancement organizations to enhance their existing progress by strengthening public health infrastructure, tackling HIV-related stigma, and offering crucial resources to under-resourced populations.
