Verizon’s Health Equity Accelerator Selects Seven Startups for Key Funding

Verizon today announced the completion of the third cohort of the Verizon Forward for Good Accelerator, which focuses on Health Equity.

The accelerator program, launched and managed in partnership with CoLab, supports startup companies using advanced technologies like 5G, MEC, Big Data, AI, and XR to address barriers to healthcare access and quality. This initiative is part of Citizen Verizon, the communication giant’s responsible business plan for economic, environmental and social advancement.

The seven winners presented their tech-enabled solutions at the Verizon Innovation Lab in Boston.

As part of the program, the companies received resources from Verizon, including mentorship, technology enablement and $50,000 in non-dilutive funding to scale their solutions.

Verizon’s focus on corporate social responsibility has expanded into the health equity space, and the company continues to message its commitment to utilizing its resources to overcome the obstacles to quality healthcare in disproportionately underrepresented and historically marginalized communities nationwide.
